#MisfitMemo 4/23/17

4/23/2017

Welcome to the #MisfitMemo, a weekly rewind of some of our best (worst?) tweets and posts! This week we created a hashtag mocking Louise Mensch and watched it go viral, published some great articles, and generally slayed Twitter.
Hope you enjoy!

The latest in the never ending onslaught of Chelsea Clinton, Variety put out an issue with what seems to be a photoshopped Chels on the cover.

We're proud of our board member @ChelseaClinton! Read this @Variety interview about her work with us: https://t.co/CNk70rdf4D #powerofwomen pic.twitter.com/TCXQzArHkx

— Healthier Generation (@HealthierGen) April 18, 2017

Hahahahahaha. Stop trying to make Chelsea happen. She's never going to happen. https://t.co/3dK5lrrFcR

— LunaticBot (@LunaticRex) April 17, 2017

"Tell me this is photoshopped"

Sincerely,
Sane people who've just eaten dinner https://t.co/SsTeacWRxj

A British Olympian (also running for MP) blusters that North Korea has a "handle on obesity." Socialism is cool because starving means no more fatties!

.@jamescracknell says North Korea is one of only two countries in the world that has "a handle on obesity" pic.twitter.com/A71191QRCJ

— Sky News (@SkyNews) April 18, 2017

There's no problem the government can't fix. Are you obese? The government's here to starve you to your optimal weight. https://t.co/jnIfo0TvO5

— Mo Mo (@molratty) April 18, 2017

In other news, sub-Saharan Africa's falling life expectancies have done wonders to eliminate Alzheimer's!!! https://t.co/hraLej1FhN

— Alexandra F. B. (@VerumVulnero1) April 18, 2017

He's not even going with the most ambitious plan. Stalin solved Ukrainian obesity *and* overpopulation way back in the 1930s. https://t.co/Vj9hgsAgOs

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) April 18, 2017

A terrible attack in Fresno left three people dead. In a strange, if not transparent, choice AP translated "Allahu Akbar" in their original tweet.

OK to run with "hates white people" line, but quoting the actual Arab phrase will get your offices Hebdo-ed. https://t.co/7OZtKQWT5Y

— Documented Musket (@Patriot_Musket) April 18, 2017

"God is great" and "Allahu Akbar" really aren't the same. If you hear one yelled in public, you look around. The other, you hit the floor.

— Kayla (@VixenRogue) April 18, 2017

The refusal by the Left/media to recognize Islam's jihadist problem is a great disservice to those muslims who might speak out against it.

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) April 18, 2017
After a lot of backlash, they updated their headline. Dan wasn't impressed and neither were the rest of us.

The House special election in Georgia's 6th district had the Democrats and their Hollywood mouthpieces drooling. They said a win would be a "referendum" on Trump, despite the fact that he only won there by 1 percentage point. YUGE referendum, indeed.

That #GA06 matters to anybody who doesn't live there is a pretty good indicator of the problem of an overly powerful federal government.

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) April 19, 2017

The meltdown over one seat in the house is like watching Clinton lose all over again.

— Dan (@danieltobin) April 19, 2017

The party of "get big money out of politics" doesn't mean when they think it will help them. pic.twitter.com/7R7EcEpw9o

— Kayla (@VixenRogue) April 19, 2017

I haven't seen this many Hollywood liberals sucking up to the state of Georgia since Tyler Perry Studios opened.

— Raymond (@RaymondWPS) April 18, 2017
Alyssa Milano was the most vocal and proclaimed she would continue to travel the country to fight the good fight. Next stop: MONTANA!

Alyssa Milano: Montana needs to embrace the shared values that make America stronger together.

— Documented Musket (@Patriot_Musket) April 19, 2017

We're okay. Montana is canceled next week. https://t.co/d6Uqb0WISf

From Berkeley to Howard Dean to the Washington Post, speech was a hot topic this week. Free speech, hate speech, provocative speech, etc. the 1st Amendment was discussed...ignorantly.

Hate speech is not protected by the first amendment. https://t.co/DOct3xcLoY

— Howard Dean (@GovHowardDean) April 21, 2017

Howard Dean thinks the Feds can control your speech because of a 1942 case in which a guy was arrested for calling a cop a fascist.

— Mo Mo (@molratty) April 23, 2017

It's possible to support a right to shitty speech & not condone said speech. Words are words. Let them be spoken, choose how you listen.

— J.Ruski Botsted□ (@JHolmsted) April 21, 2017

Berkeley gave birth to the Free Speech Movement in the 1960s. Now, conservatives are demanding it include them. https://t.co/tw0fha1I3V

— Washington Post (@washingtonpost) April 21, 2017

"oh great, everybody wants free speech now" https://t.co/oJncqrZ6Rz

— Dan (@danieltobin) April 21, 2017

Protecting free speech is easy when it's speech you agree with. https://t.co/vKZzO968ww

— MisfitPolitics (@MisfitsPolitics) April 21, 2017

If you use the phrase "weaponizing academic freedom," you shouldn't be anywhere near a University classroom. https://t.co/LnSiVqubw6

— Mo Mo (@molratty) April 20, 2017

I feel like liberals think the purpose of the Constitution is to make sure Americans are good people. It's not.

— CC SpyBot Hayes (@_CCHayes) April 21, 2017

The March for Science was as political as we expected. If you disagree that it should be you hate science or something. But come on, what do you expect from the same people that deny a fetus is a baby, but climate change is #SettledScience!

@danieltobin now why in the world would scientific studies ever become political? pic.twitter.com/yl2gRTFJNX

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) April 22, 2017

I wasn't aware science was sick!!! Or is this to raise science awareness???
If science is in trouble maybe we can start a GoFundMe page! https://t.co/Zx9p8bvLZu

— Brad Slager □□□ (@MartiniShark) April 21, 2017

Of course we didn't limit our smart and snarky remarks to just these topics, so here's the best of the rest!

Probably too much politics here for the left who get triggered by the American Flag at baseball games. https://t.co/pXmUWO4ycX

— Dan (@danieltobin) April 18, 2017

Space aliens have human emotions like "surprise" but don't understand territorialism. Ok. https://t.co/e4vUEVvasW

— Mo Mo (@molratty) April 17, 2017

"Trump makes peaceful, moderate Muslims want to blow people up." -- cool story, bro. https://t.co/q8qkQcuWE7

— Rebecca de Winter (@BlazerMc88) April 22, 2017

I need Dwayne back. I need his advice on bagging sweet ladies. The smelling their hair and telling them they remind me of Mom isn't enough.

— Komrade Russianbot□ (@GentlemanRascal) April 20, 2017
We have to admit. We kinda miss Dwayne, too.

Maybe if something crawled up your butt and died, one should refrain from twitter polls that are supposed to be fun? @MisfitsPolitics

— Gringo Suave □ (@2009superglide) April 22, 2017
Bingo Gringo. Why do people have to rain on our parade?
