Rebecca de Winter
Welcome to the latest edition of the Misfit Weekly Rewind, where we round up our best tweets and blog posts from the week. We laughed, we cried, we...well maybe not, but we did have a lot of fun, and we’d love for you to join us.

So let’s get this party started!

The week got off to a roaring start, with The Atlantic publishing a piece so ridiculous, so stupid, so insane...well - see for yourself:

How the ultrasound pushed the idea that a fetus is a person, @moiragweigel reports: https://t.co/0qRz8nexLs pic.twitter.com/8Z9TYej9xl

— The Atlantic (@TheAtlantic) January 24, 2017

Per The Atlantic, pro-lifers use science to define life. In contrast, pro-aborts use euphemisms. pic.twitter.com/IZ1V8mhdjA

— Mo Mo (@molratty) January 24, 2017

"This article originally stated a bunch of bullshit. We regret the error."

*Note title & lede were also changed. https://t.co/f3MSQTuOZA

— J.R. Holmsted (@JHolmsted) January 27, 2017

Everyone know that "Science" is just code for Christian Fundamentalism. Anti-Choice advocates need to try harder with their propaganda! □ https://t.co/tFWJUFMthU

In arguably one of the most hilarious moments on Twitter to date, Senator Ted Cruz punked the sports website Deadspin after writer Ashley Feinberg tried to take him down a notch. Emphasis on “tried,” because the response from Cruz was nothing short of glorious:

I love @tedcruz so much RN pic.twitter.com/p8fB0ykh4h

— Rebecca de Winter (@BlazerMc88) January 25, 2017
Instead of handling this smackdown in good humor, Deadspin decided to double down, and hilarity ensued.

Amazing that low-testosterone Ted Cruz enthusiasts are comfortable haranguing @ashleyfeinberg but not me, Deadspin's actual editor!

— Tim Marchman (@timmarchman) January 25, 2017

Deadspin hasn't been embarrassed enough today. https://t.co/cHgirLHyJz

— MisfitPolitics (@MisfitsPolitics) January 25, 2017

Ok, that's fair. Rented. Like a mule. https://t.co/V5aUFnEyUN

— Mo Mo (@molratty) January 25, 2017
The 2017 March for Life took place last week, and it was a huge success, as always. It was especially historic, as Vice President Pence attended and addressed the crowd personally (the highest ranking public official ever to do this). The pro-choice leftists had a field day with their ugly, snide remarks and insults, of course.

When ppl have to frame groups that advocate for the fundamental right to life as twisted & nefarious, we have lost our way. #MarchforLife

— J.R. Holmsted (@JHolmsted) January 27, 2017

"Bodily integrity" is super important, just not for the baby being torn apart. #MarchForLife https://t.co/LdC8heSTpQ

— Mo Mo (@molratty) January 27, 2017

So many strawmen being destroyed by brave culture warriors fighting against the #MarchForLife.

— Kayla (@VixenRogue) January 27, 2017

It takes two to create life. It shouldn't take one to end it. #MarchForLife

— Gentleman Rhino □ (@GentlemanRascal) January 27, 2017

This is today's stupidest tweet. Maybe the month of January's stupidest. What action did you take to get those kidneys inside you, Valenti? https://t.co/38wmTTbXXp

— LunaticRex (@LunaticRex) January 27, 2017

Equating abortions with forced kidney donations, becuz they both r related to the body is the def of a logic fail. https://t.co/a6FX82dWkc

— CC Hayes □ (@_CCHayes) January 27, 2017

When my daughter was born. #MarchforLife2017 #DefundPP pic.twitter.com/ABAa9stKG8

— Dan (@danieltobin) January 27, 2017

You will never regret choosing life. #MarchForLife pic.twitter.com/uYE9k5zvpf

Trump signed an Executive Order on refugees, nobody took the time to really read it, and the internet has nearly imploded into itself. The factually wrong hashtag #MuslimBan took off (note: there is no Muslim ban) and people left and right are losing their minds, to put it mildly.

It's the GOP's fault Obama downplayed and ignored genocide and complicated the refugee situation.

— Dan (@danieltobin) January 28, 2017

Reminder: the same people freaking out over Trump's targeted immigration freeze were perfectly fine with Obama ending "wet foot, dry foot."

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) January 28, 2017

de Blasio, as Mayor of NY, called for a boycott of Chick-Fil-A https://t.co/LVZyTIh56N

— Mo Mo (@molratty) January 29, 2017

Well considering a beverage was a topic of conversation today-from journalists-maybe it's not all the WH's fault? https://t.co/ZlQOfGF8KN

— CC Hayes □ (@_CCHayes) January 29, 2017

Trump's EO got more attention in the past day from the press than Obama's lack of interest in Syrian genocide the past five years.

— Dan (@danieltobin) January 29, 2017
Miscellaneous Misfit Musings:

Turns out being gung-ho on expanding executive authority for 8 years was a bad idea, huh? https://t.co/nXnvSYZ3ss

— CDP □⚾□ (@cdpayne79) January 29, 2017

The media has no chill.

— Rebecca de Winter (@BlazerMc88) January 28, 2017

Is confirmation of a new Supreme Court justice still a priority or not so much anymore? @SenWarren

— Gringo Suave □ (@2009superglide) January 25, 2017

I don't tell them often enough, but I'm proud of my children. They succeed in spite of my failings in raising them.

"Educate yourself" seems the go to when ppl want to shut down conversation, but want to seem like they won & are superior. Often just lazy.

— J.R. Holmsted (@JHolmsted) January 28, 2017

Who better to be the voice of a generation than the third-place finisher in a one state race for President?

— Alex F. Baldwin □ (@VerumVulnero1) January 25, 2017

"That's pretty damn stupid"

Sheila Jackson Lee https://t.co/wFgHVYIsi0

— Marc Logic □ (@marcannem96) January 25, 2017

Your stubborn refusal to separate the wheat from the chaff is disturbing. https://t.co/5PUEgML19u

— Rebecca de Winter (@BlazerMc88) January 28, 2017

Hey, @POTUS: Since your party controls both chambers, why not get some laws passed instead of acting like an asshole leftist? Just a thought

— LunaticRex (@LunaticRex) January 25, 2017

To be a principled conservative now is to have been alternating between jubilant glee and abject terror for the last two and a half months.

— Kayla (@VixenRogue) January 25, 2017

You know that that clock isn't an actual clock, right? Its not actually based on anything other than their opinion. https://t.co/47mumOX7JC

— (((M. Raymer))) (@miscRaymer) January 26, 2017

The Left for the last two 1/2 months: pic.twitter.com/6NaMMpOybd
