We're All Gonna Die!

Every day, I wake up expecting to look at my window to the utter destruction I've been promised by the Democrats and it simply is not there. I am beginning to wonder if Republicans have a general disinterest in burning down the country and establishing authoritarian rule. For all the wild propaganda, the GOP is fairly inept at establishing a dictatorship. In fact, they are generally terrible at basic governance, even when having the majority in both chambers of Congress and the White House. The GOP’s lackluster interest in running things sure makes the liberals look foolish. There they are, lighting the world on fire in protest of something not happening. It's a good thing the GOP is awful at dictatorships because the Democrats are terrible at resisting them.

For all the hot air, leftists have failed to deliver any solution to the executive powers that grew under their recent tenure at 1600. They like these powers too much to do anything to truly curb them. And let's be honest: They like Trump too. The GOP moves left not because it's changed its mind, but because it was given permission to do. Voting for a New York liberal tends to do that. There is really nothing surprising in the Trump GOP. The few surprises come when he does something remotely conservative. The Gorsuch appointment, for instance, was a positive. But seeing that he replaced a conservative Justice, the Dems have little to complain about--not that they let that stop them. With Trump in office the left makes out pretty well. They are getting their spending, their taxpayer funded abortions at Planned Parenthood, and the big government insurance they always wanted that inevitably leads to single payer. Even with these goodies, they can't help themselves. No shift to the left will ever appease the left itself, whose existence is rooted in hating the right. For all the lip service about being in it together, Democrats continue to make it clear that “together” doesn't include conservatives or Republicans. More importantly, despite their professed newfound respect and concern for the Constitution and the Republic, there is no resistance. They are just waiting for their next turn to drop the hammer on Americans, and they'll eventually get it. In the meantime, we’ll just observe Democrats being hysterical over the uninspired laziness of the GOP.
