Punish the Conservative Media

Mark Levin recently reversed his “Never Trump” stance to supporting the candidate. A favorite among many conservatives, Levin’s change of heart should have turned many against him, and for some it did, but also there was a surprising amount of shrugging and understanding. Full Disclosure: I have never listened to Levin. I have no investment in his words or ideas. But I do know his change of mind is deserves some scrutiny.  

The readiness to forgive here is curious. The political season was spent in unforgiveness. There was not a bend or a break for candidates, committing trivial fouls like voting mailers.  There was no putting the past behind politicians who supported laws that did not pass, and changed course afterward. Why forgive Levin, who validated Trump's run early and only turned on him when he attacked Cruz? Why give Levin a pass, who surrenders his values after berating those who would not?  

Forget that we never hold the government accountable. We can't even hold our media accountable, even the ones who are on our side. That's why we see Breitbart, a once conservative outlet, now an alt-right propagandist machine. Punish Levin, punish the media letting you down, or expect a fold from every conservative you hold in great esteem, because you will let them get away with it.
