The 2016 election is finally over. I am glad that it is over. I really was expecting Hillary Clinton to win. I did not vote for Hillary. It would be hard to vote for her after seeing her actions during the Benghazi hearings. I think what I was hoping for during the Benghazi hearing was for her to show a little compassion. I was hoping for Hillary to show remorse. I was looking for a little humanity in Hillary. Hillary was supposed to be the first woman president. What do people look for in women that they do not usually see in men? Maybe a nurturer? Maybe compassion? Maybe validation and understanding? I could not see her as the next Commander in Chief after the Benghazi hearings. The bathroom server was also another sign of her disdain for the rules. She bypassed lawful monitoring by using her bathroom server. It was not about convenience.
Hillary has been extremely cold and calculating for her whole political career. Hillary offered nothing new. Hillary may have two X chromosomes, but her mask dropped plenty of times within her political career. I think the nation has been ready for a woman president. There has been speculation as to why Hillary lost. Van Jones wants to call it a “white-lash.” Some people are blaming uneducated whites voting. The big reason that Hillary lost is that she lacks compassion for others and is self-absorbed. People already know that Trump is an asshole. He doesn’t try to hide it. Bill Clinton had charm. He could get away with things because of his charm. Hillary doesn’t have the warmth that Bill Clinton does.
I am not expecting miracles to happen with Trump as the president. I might actually do a White House tour within the next four years. The White House has not felt like it belonged to the American people for the past eight years. I am cautiously optimistic that things will get better I hope that Melania will bring a little femininity to the White House again. I really am glad that the election is over.
