Culture Creep: Anti-Male Edition

Rebecca de Winter
Recently I wrote a piece about the progressive left’s insidious agenda to creep society bit by bit towards the fruition of their radical utopia where, among other things, human beings no longer have a gender.

The fight to eradicate gender is just one tentacle of the monstrous entity known as the Social Justice Warrior (SJW), which resides comfortably within the progressive movement. Other goals include the eradication of free speech (or rather, speech they deem offensive), the triumph of diversity over merit, the shaming and exclusion of straight men (especially if they’re white), and the punishing of those who dare disagree with their agenda (among other things).

Today I’m going to focus on the anti-male agenda of the regressive left.
Picture

I’d like to point out the hilarious irony of a movement that claims “gender is a social construct” while at the same time belittling males in particular at every turn. Just chew on that for a moment.

The feminist contempt and hatred for men is nothing new, of course. Here are some choice words feminists have had for men over the past few decades:

“I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig.” - Andrea Dworkin

“I feel that ‘man-hating’ is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them.” - Robin Morgan, Ms. Magazine Editor

On the topic of campus rape allegations: “Why could we not expel a student based on an allegation?” - Amanda Childress, Sexual Assault Awareness Program coordinator at Dartmouth

“I’d kill myself.” - Lena Dunham’s response to the question “What would you do if you woke up as a man?”

"The patriarchy is using equality to oppress women. We need a new wave of feminism to be more equal than men."  - Jessica Valenti

These quotes do not exist in a vacuum. Spend half an hour browsing feminist forums and websites and your hair will stand on end from all the spittle-flecked vitriol spewing from within these hardened hearts.

She seems nice
It’s a lot more than hysterical quotes, however (yeah, I went there). Some women want men to grovel.

The shaming of a male scientist on what should have been the greatest day of his life for the style of his shirt stands out as particularly painful. He was part of a team that landed a probe launched from earth onto a comet 300 million miles away, but never mind that, his shirt was offensive. He was scolded and shamed, and his public apology, in tears, made my heart ache for him.

On the political front, some are ratcheting things up a notch. A PAC named, aptly, “Can You Not” was started with the goal of asking straight white men to step aside and not bother running for office. A large part of their goal includes, and this is a direct quote, “defeating mediocre white dudes.”

In another sharp jab, Harvard recently announced that, starting in the fall of 2017, students who join social clubs geared for males only will be ineligible to serve in leadership positions in other campus groups.

A charming blogger at the  online community aptly named Feministing is so excited about this she is doing “a happy dance.”

Meanwhile, Duke just green-lighted an “all-female selective living group” to ensure a special space “not dependent on male influence.”

These developments have nothing on what may be the largest threat against men – and that is the demonstrably false “college rape epidemic” hysteria seizing campuses across the nation.  The constantly touted “1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted in college” is a flat-out lie, and make no mistake, this harms men and ruins lives, especially given that the accused seldom get fair due process protection.

While hipsterish male feminists write think-pieces earnestly addressing their “male privilege,” which includes having a short morning routine (this is not a parody), the grim realities of the challenges men face are routinely ignored.

Picture
About that male privilege...
While it may be debatable that men are in crisis (men of older generations still rule the roost when it comes to positions in Congress, or as CEOs, for example), for younger generations, there is no question boys are falling far behind.

For a brilliant, sharp analysis of the roots of this decline, Christina Hoff Sommer’s “The War Against Boys” is a must read. Sommers references the “climate of disapproval” in which boys now grow, which has dramatically increased in recent years.

None of this is really surprising, having witnessed decades of  media
portraying men as bumbling morons, with brilliant and beautiful wives barely tolerating their existence with thinly veiled condescension.

As writer Avi Woolf describes in a brutally honest piece, “All the traditional avenues of value and self-worth seem to be closing off for an increasing slice of the male population. And many are simply dropping out of life as a result.”

I fear that in society’s mad rush to empower women (and I address the problem with women’s empowerment here), we have dismissed men altogether. It’s not a zero-sum game. We can celebrate and inspire boys without diminishing girls, and we should.

The people to feel bad for are the less socially-skilled of both sexes. The skilled will manage to succeed under any rules - women in the past, men now. In fact, the harder and more contradictory you make the rules, the more sociopaths will succeed at them. But the decent well-meaning folk who can only manage to understand half of what's happening will suffer, and the truly socially clumsy will be cast into the outer darkness. Do you think mean girls will spare the Wrong Sort of Women in sororal solidarity?

In fact, it may be that this is actually the plan of many of the feminist-supporters who are less obvious. They are setting a task of impossible social navigation for the prince, to show that he is worthy. Just like in the fairy tales. They claim to hate the Disney Princesses, but are just a different version.

Plenty of boys grow up without a loving, caring father in the home, and go on to become cultural icons. Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown come to mind immediately.

Eddie, picking two people out of how many men in the world does not a truth make. These men are exceptions as are the others of both sexes who "made it". Hence they become as you put it icons and they probably would have regardless of having one or two parents at home. Your point is fatuous.

"men of older generations still rule the roost when it comes to positions in Congress, or as CEOs, for example"

This makes as much sense as saying that women have it easy because female swimsuit models get paid more -- it's meaningless cherry-picking.

There are about 50 million men over the age of 50; if 150,000 of them are rich and powerful CEOs/politicians; that's 0.003% ... and about the same number of men over 50 in prison.

Idle Question: What do y'all suppose "Male Tears" woman in the photo above would say to a Boko Haram guy carrying an AK-47?

Seems to me radical feminists are predicating their entire world view on the assumption that angry and frustrated males can't, or won't, rediscover their inner medievality.

The problem that radical feminists have is that women who are not radical feminists are completely opposite. There is no unanimity from their sex. And rare is the man who endorses his own degradation.

Feminist rhetoric requires the routine rejection of facts and reality. The 1 in 5 lie is just one example of the manipulation of reality, double standards and hypocrisy that lies at feminism's foundation. The reality of feminism is that as relationships with women become more and more anti-male and toxic - and they will - men will more and more go their own way - as evidenced by the decades long declining marriage rates and birth rates within countries in which feminism has a strong foothold - especially by whites in America, Europe, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and the Japanese. Muslims in Denmark are now demanding that parts be annexed for Muslim only communities.

The unspoken truth of mass immigration into the aforementioned countries is that with feminism comes the need to outsource birth - which means extinction - some even might call a form of suicide - for the races that adopt toxic feminism. I don't need to prove this. It's already happening the globe over right before your very eyes.

I'm one such example. Feminism and all the anti-male policies and misandric rhetoric that comes with it taught me that it's best to avoid legal, financial and psychological relationships with women all together. I haven't had a relationship with a woman in many, many years and will remain blissfully single for all my remaining days. My will contains provisions for my estate at death to be transferred to men's charities - not my wife - or the children I'll never have.

Feminists are very wrong for destroying patriarchal notions. The destruction of the supposed patriarchy leaves little to no reward in marriage for men. With no-fault divorce - a system rigged in women's favor by NAWL (National Association of Women Lawyers) - with women refusing to take their husbands name - with women using parental alienation to destroy men - with women demanding child support in lieu of shared parenting - with false accusations becoming all the rage - there's nothing left for men in marriage or commitments to women. Why bother when the entire system is rigged against you? I sure wont - at least not any longer.

BTW - I don't live in my mother's basement. Salary is close to 200K yearly - academic credentials are many - own my own house and car outright - am debt free and have close to a million in savings.

Will anything I just wrote change things in the slightest? Nope. Why? Feminism hatred of men is merely the manifestation of women’s deep desire to control men and maintain superiority above men. Most women won’t claim the label of feminist outright – but instead conceal their support - knowing that they can use the rigged, misandric system against men when the time is right.
